The hotels have been generating millions of dollars each year in revenues and they were paying $25 each month for wastewater usage? Not to include all the restaurants and kitchens they operate within those hotels. Who ultimately shoulders all the manpower, overtime and resources forked out by CUC whenever a pump malfunctions due to heavy grease accumulation Mr. Muna.
How could this have happened without you knowing?
Didn’t you perform any audit on the commercial establishment billings on island before you assumed office as executive director?
CPUC initially determined that the recommendation of CUC and its consultant, Georgetown Consulting Group, on imposing an increase in wastewater rates was “not persuasive.”
If the constant overflow of raw sewage into our community affecting our land and coastal environment, including the health of the community, is not important, then we suggest you terminate your consultants for this is blatantly a sign of ignorance and cover-up in the making.
Not to mention our visiting tourists who have to endure smelling those bad odor coming from those sewer manholes.
As citizens and consumers of CUC we demand to know who authorized such self-interest billings Mr. Muna.
