Letter to the Editor: We got fooled, again

He asked, “Do they (the leaders) really think they can really fool the struggling and the suffering people who are trying to put food on the table?” Well, Mr. Romolor, I am sorry to say this, but they don’t have to think. They’ve already done it. The mere fact that they are enjoying the majestic life in an air-conditioned room while the rest of us can hardly pay our utility bills shows that they did fool the voters.

They are not fooling themselves Mr. Romolor. They are too smart. They fooled the voters to vote for them and the voters still don’t understand why the government is messed up. They promised prosperity and got into the office and cut working hours for the people who voted for them. It’s just like a baker who promised a strawberry pie but delivered a cup cake with a plastic knife.

You see Mr. Romolor, these people we call leaders cannot figure out why the people are paying the LEAC charge at CUC and their utility bills at the same time. They have no solution to the problems facing the Retirement Fund and CHC. So when they look at the mirror they say, “You good looking you; you are smart; we will find what to say in the next election and they will vote for us again.”

Lastly, Mr. Romolor, you also said, “wake up leaders.” You see, when these so-called leaders won the election, they had a fiesta and celebrated their victory over the voters. After the party they went to sleep which was followed by taking a nap and preparing for the next election. Do they have a solution to the problems we are facing on the island? The answer is NO, so we just have to learn how to deal with our nightmares as we sleep and wait until Dec. 21, 2012.

Keep writing Mr. Romolor. We don’t have enough people like you who are very concerned about the livelihood of their island. Lastly, Mr. Romolor, our government is so corrupted that it is impossible to fix it unless the voters learn to vote right. We will just have to sit down and watch the ping-pong game on Capital Hill.
