But bakeries are a matter of personal choice. There may be many bakeries in a given community, but one tends to go to only his favorite and personal choice. The baker has what it takes to make one’s choice. It’s probably how they twist their dough, and measure up their ingredients, but at any rate, they do inspire one to make them their favorite choice. It is highly plausible that one baker is definitely different from all other bakers!
But as an inspirational gourmet, I think that the smaller the bakery, the better the twisting of the dough! You can almost taste the big significant difference of hand twisted versus the machine twisted dough. For some reason, the personal touch of the dough by the baker always makes one taste the goodness of his baked goodies.
I keep challenging bakeries after bakeries as to who bakes the best pandesal and Chamorro cakes and the winner is this very small bakery on Dandan Road — the Dandan Bakery.
Hip hip hooray! Every morning it will be jammed with customers from all over the island picking up their hot pandesal, and other baked goods! It looks like a house from the outside, but inside there exists the best bakery on Saipan. Call them up and place your order which will be hot from the oven closest to the time you tell them you will pick up your order!
From pandesal, birthday cakes, cheese cakes, donuts and even French bread, you can order and have them freshly baked. And even if they don’t have it, order it and the proud Dandan Bakery bakers will try and meet your needs. Yes! The smaller the bakery, the better the twisting, and then the best tasting baked stuff it will be. The only time that small is so good is when the bakery is small. Enfin serafin!
