Personally, my position is the same as the Guam governor’s, which is it has no place on the island. But I am not about to impose my views on others and if folks, military or not, desire the services of massage ladies to get their minds of the travails of service, then so be it. But the bigger question is if Guam is a family-friendly tourist destination, just moving it somewhere else will not address the island image issue, nor will it solve the problems associated with the world’s oldest profession.
That problem will remain but I think the key is to minimize the risks posed by such an industry as best possible.
Cruz should be lauded for taking up the cudgels when nobody else would want to touch this with a 10-foot pole. Unfortunately, his detractors given his proposed Bill 185, the same-sex bill, will lump the two pieces of legislation together as a means to ridicule the senator’s good intentions on Bill 314. Just as I do not want to “regulate” how many times people want to have sex, legally or illegally, I do not want to “lash out” at Senator Cruz for proposing Bill 185.
If folks want to talk about sin, they must know that we are living in the Age of Grace, where we are not supposed to hate someone for the choices they make, right or wrong.
