Dear Congresswoman Kimberlyn King-Hinds

I AM writing to respectfully request clarification and assistance regarding an urgent issue affecting individuals under the C37 visa category.

Several members of our community who submitted their EAD renewal applications under category (C)(37) in January 2026 have had their application packages returned due to “incorrect payment.” However, USCIS did not specify what the correct fee should be. Examples include:

• My friend, Marriz, submitted her application with a G 1650 ACH debit authorization for $520. Her package was returned twice with the same note about incorrect payment, but without indicating the correct amount.

• My cousin, Imee, submitted her application with a G 1450 credit card authorization for $520. Her package was returned yesterday for the same reason, again without clarification.

• Another friend, Randy, whose application I assisted with, also had his package returned for the same stated reason.

According to the USCIS website and the G 1055 fee schedule, the renewal fee remains $520, and no updates or changes to this fee have been posted. This inconsistency is causing confusion, delays, and unnecessary hardship for applicants.

We respectfully request your office’s assistance in obtaining clarification from USCIS regarding the correct renewal fee for C37 visa holders so that applicants can submit accurate payments and avoid repeated rejections.

Additionally, we kindly ask whether you could advocate for an automatic 180-day extension of EADs from the date of expiration for individuals who have submitted their renewal applications and possess a receipt notice. This would help prevent work interruptions and reduce strain on employers who are already facing workforce challenges.

Thank you very much for your attention, assistance, and continued support on this matter.

Sincerely,

MALOU H. BERUECO
