I AM having this letter written by other published in my name on-behalf of some “Concerned Citizens” who asked me and respectfully do not want their names exposed as Variety does not print “anonymous” letters. Please respect this letter as coming from a group of concerned citizens and not me:
Dear Mr. Speaker, Rep Celina Babauta, Sen. Edith DL Guerrero, Sen. Paul Manglona and other Representatives & Senators in the government. We the public wish to convey our appreciation for what you have done to follow the right path of Justice on behalf of the CNMI. It is unfortunate for the CNMI to continuously be dragged through the corruption in this Administration. The recent revelation of the Governor’s Lawyer drafting or helping to draft the Senate Rules is totally unacceptable and she along with the Governor need to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the Law.
Many of us are now wondering and even questioning the validity of the three branches of government in the CNMI if applicable or useless according to the outcome of the Impeached Gov. Ralph DLG Torres should he be found not guilty. The JGO have carried out their Constitutional Fiduciary Duties to hold the Governor accountable and have impeached Governor Torres in accordance with the Law. Governor Torres has been found in violation of our laws that include, but not limited to, the commission of felonies, corruption and neglect of duty. For these reasons we are pleading for this Governor to be prosecuted and found guilty in the Senate. However, should he be found not guilty we are pleading for you to submit all the evidence on the Governor to the Attorney General and the Federal Bureau of Investigation as the Feds may be our last hope of getting Justice with the Governor.
We believe the Senate has no other reason to deviate from the evidence of the Governor’s wrong doings that prove he is guilty. For the Governor to bring those lawyers to defend his wrongdoings and even scheme to write the Senate Rules is a real “Deal Braker” with the People of the CNMI. “No one is above the law” and the ultimate conclusion is to present this case on Governor Torres to our Justice System should the Senate fail to convict this corrupt Governor. We the public demand JUSTICE, as we are fed up with corruption in this government in the CNMI. The Senators and Representatives in the House who did and will vote to convict the Governor can know that many of us voters will support you in the election and please don’t stop in the Senate but prosecute this Governor in our Justice System to the highest extent of Local and Federal Laws. Many people can see it is time for change with different and better Representation in the Executive and Legislative Branches. Thank You Representatives and Senators who are doing the Right-Thing for the people.
AMBROSE M. BENNETT
