WITH prints of her mantis shrimp watercolor titled “Super Angry Rainbow of Death,” Kate King Manglona raised $385 for Saipan Cares for Animals on Saturday, Sept. 25, 2021, at Marianas Creations. The ten-year-old Saipan International School student sold seven prints and donated the entire proceeds to Saipan Cares for Animals.
Kate has used her art in the past to raise money for the non-profit animal rescue clinic. In March, prints of Kate’s watercolor of a green sea turtle titled “Frank” raised $443 for Saipan Cares.
“One day, we could not find our dog Py. When we finally found him, he was hurt and needed surgery and medicine,” explains Kate. “Saipan Cares was there to help, and I wanted to help them back.”
In addition to the money raised by Kate, local business Marianas Creations donated $431 from their Trivia Night events.
