IT takes discipline, proper diet and determination to win the challenge, said Irene Cristobal, 50, who won this year’s M2 Fitness 45-day body transformation challenge.
Finishing second and third were Rosanna Lopez and Judy Ann Ramos.
The three along with other competition winners were honored during M2 Fitness’s third year-end party at the Saipan World Resort’s Royal Taga Hall on Friday.
According to Cristobal, “You have to work hard to achieve your goal.”
She said she heads to the gym at 5 a.m. After her day’s work, she returns to the gym in the afternoon. She said she also watches her diet, eating only fish such as mahi-mahi and salmon. She doesn’t eat rice and her main protein sources are nuts and beans. Her diet also won her the Best Meal Award.
Damian Lastimado Jr., for his part, received the Best Daily Workout Challenge Award.
The judges were Northern Marianas Bodybuilding and Physique Federation President and Dee Clayton Classic President Dee Clayton, Latte Built Fitness & Nutrition LLC President Derek Cutting, Marianas High School teacher and certified nutritionist Anastasia Inos, Philippine actor Bojo Molina and Joeten Motors Company President and Marianas Island Nature Alliance Board Vice Chair Somia Quan.
Also receiving an award was Star of the Night Irene Dela Paz who bested the other finalists — Vincent Rinuelle Rabasto, Desolee Calayo, Emily Cabrera and Mark Vasquez.
The Dancing Venom is this year’s top group performer. They also won the Best in Costume and the Coaches’ Choice awards.
In second place were M2 Balingkinitan while Zumbalizious came in third.
All the competition winners received medals and certificates.
M2 Fitness President Mary Grace Bautista extended her “heartfelt thanks and appreciation” to the sponsors. She said without their support the event would not have been possible.
She also thanked all the M2 Fitness members. “They are the reason why we are all gathered here tonight. This very special night is yours,” she added.
She likewise thanked the hard-working group performers: Team Dancing Venom led by Julie Harrison and assistant leader Vincent Rabasto; Team M2 Balingkinitan led by Irene Dela Paz and assistant leader Des Calayo; and Zumbalizious led by Camille Bacago and assistant leader Jeofelin Santos.
“You all did great, and you all are a big part of this event,” Bautista said. “Thank you to all of you who put in a lot of effort to create costumes for the fashion show theme — it made the night even more perfect.”
Bautista also thanked the judges for giving their time and for joining M2 Fitness in celebrating its third annual year-end party.
“Thank you, too, to the undying support of our official photographer, Lao Zhang, Marianas Variety and Saipan Tribune who are always here to celebrate with us, and most of all thank you to our hard working Christmas Party committees. Without the help and contributions of each of you here tonight, this event would not have been a success,” Bautista added.
