THIS month’s “Choi-Da-Cheese in Saipan” YouTube (@M_USB) series featuring three South Korean celebrities on a trip to The Marianas has gained 1 million views, bringing new attention to the islands as an ideal destination for friends.

“Choi-Da-Cheese” channel has nearly 800,000 subscribers and features actor and host Daniel Choi joined by musician Henry and actor Hyun-woo Lee showcasing their adventures in Saipan together.

“Through this collaboration with celebrities and a popular YouTube channel, we are positioning The Marianas as a safe and nearby destination where friends can bond and make lasting memories together,” said MVA Marketing Manager Thomas Kim. “Aimed at Millennial and Gen Z audiences, ‘Choi-Da-Cheese in Saipan’ is a fresh take on travel through the unique personalities of the three stars. Their natural chemistry, candid conversations, and shared experiences turn out to be a true picture of the connectedness we also enjoy here as locals — very relatable.”

The series consists of three episodes. Preview Episode 0 introduces viewers to the build-up of the trip, including the first meeting between Choi and Lee. Having visited Saipan 11 years ago, Lee leads the group in curating a “must-do” list featuring tuna sashimi, parasailing, and more.

In Episode 1, the trio’s Saipan adventure officially begins, as the group surprisingly meets the same local tour guide that Lee had when he visited 11 years ago — longtime Saipan resident Dongin Jang. They check into a beachfront resort, enjoy sunset dining, discuss their food preferences, and engage in lighthearted banter infused with American-style humor. Their effortless rapport brings laughter while also delivering practical travel tips and destination highlights.

Episode 2 premiered on Friday (June 25) and follows Choi as he challenges his fear of the water, with a packed itinerary that includes marine activities on Managaha, recreational fishing, island-hopping tour, ATV rides, and heartfelt conversations that deepen their friendship.

Choi is a well-known Korean actor and entertainer who gained popularity through lead roles in several hit Korean dramas and is currently active as a popular TV personality. Henry is a singer and entertainer based in Korea. He’s a Canadian artist of Chinese descent and first rose to fame as a member of Super Junior-M, a subunit of the K-pop group Super Junior. Lee is another popular Korean actor, recognized for his roles in numerous dramas and films.

Kim added that MVA is continuing to expand creative partnerships with YouTube creators to target the diverse interests of travelers.
