Eucon unveils new ministry, opens health care services

Saipan Mayor Donald Flores, Eucon president Dr. Christian Wei and the Rev. Pete Miral cut the ceremonial ribbon for Eucon Medical Health Services, a division of Christian Way Mission International, on Dec. 10, 2011.

The highlight of the grand opening was described by the facility’s slogan: “Helping Hands and Touching Lives.”

Opening the medical health services has been Wei’s vision.

He wanted a facility that would provide quality and affordable healthcare services to the entire community.

Eucon Medical Health Services will initially provide outpatient physical therapy.

In his speech during the opening ceremony, Wei said part of the long term plan is to make the facility a training ground for physical therapy students from China, Taiwan and other Asian countries in preparation for their U.S. licensure examination.  Eventually, the facility will be a medical college, specializing in physical therapy and nursing.

Flores expressed his heartfelt gratitude to Eucon for undertaking this business venture despite the economic situation of the CNMI.

Miral, General manager/director for services, said a crisis is an opportunity and not a deterrent to success.

During the program, the staffers were also introduced: Severo B. Siasoyco, II, a U.S. and CNMI licensed physical therapist; Menette P. Siasoyco, physical therapist technician; and Wendy, a PT intern from Taiwan.

Guests included a representative from the Attorney General’s Office, insurance companies as well as Eucon staff and students.
