JKPL thanks Joeten Motors for expeditious repair of Bookmobile and Technology Mobile Express

(JKPL) — The Joeten-Kiyu Public Library is pleased to announce that thanks to the generous support and assistance of Joeten Motors Inc. the repair of the Bookmobile and Technology Mobile Express was expedited and completed in time for the Bookmobile Summer Reading Program and the resumption of outreach services to the Tanapag Youth Center from July 10-12, 2024; the Carolinian Utt/Pavilion from July 17-19; the Kagman Community Center from July 24-26, and the Fernando M. Benavente Memorial Library (San Antonio) from July 30-31 and August 2, 2024.

“Following the vandalism that occurred to both the Bookmobile and the Technology Mobile Express on Friday, June 28, 2024 in the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library parking lot, we are immensely grateful to Joeten Motors Inc. for their prompt and efficient repair of both library vehicles,” said Library Director Erlinda C. Naputi. “On behalf of the community we serve, we humbly thank Joeten Motors Inc. for their outstanding service and expeditious repair of both vehicles, which will enable us to continue to provide essential library services to our most underserved communities and enhance educational opportunities for all residents.”

The Bookmobile or the “mini library on wheels” serves as a vital resource for the community, bringing library services and resources directly to residents who may have limited access to traditional library programs and services. Its impact is particularly significant during the Summer Reading Program, as JKPL strives to promote literacy and a love for reading among children and families.

JKPL’s temporary summer library hours are as follows: Tuesday to Thursday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday 1:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Closed Sundays, Mondays, and Holidays.
