M2 Fitness celebrates 1st year with Zumba marathon

FILIPINO actor and Zumba dance instructor Wowie De Guzman joined M2 Fitness via Zoom in celebrating its first anniversary at the Saipan World Resort on Saturday.

Over 100 Zumba dancers from different organizations on Saipan and Tinian attended the event that was highlighted by a Zumba marathon.

The winners of a 45-day body transformation challenge were also announced while a video slideshow paid tribute to the organizers and founding members of M2 Fitness who, at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic last year, brought people together so they could stay fit.

Officers and members of Strong Zumba and Zumba Fitness joined M2 Fitness’s anniversary celebration. Also participating were the Custodian Ladies, Let’s Move Marianas, Tinian FitBeat Anti-Tobacco and local Zumba sensation Shellan Sarmiento.

Led by the M2 “shadowers” and members, they all participated in a Zumba marathon.

Tan Siu Lin Foundation executive director Merlie Tolentino was the guest speaker and one of the judges of the transformation challenge and the costume contest. The other judges were Tinian Mayor Edwin Aldan, Saipan Mayor’s Office field operations director Joann Aquino, and physical fitness instructors Simon Odoca and Dee Clayton.

The winners of the 45-day body transformation challenge were Rosanna Lopez, first place; Roselle Vannessa Lorejo, second; and Anita Tampus, third.

For the costume contest, the top winner was Mhiles Navarro while Olive Coprade and Cora San Gabriel were second and third.
