After their cleanup, the Marianas Variety staff recorded the kinds of trash they collected.
TWENTY staff members of Marianas Variety participated in the International Coastal Cleanup on Saturday morning, Sept. 16.
MV was assigned the area from Oleai Beach Bar & Grill to the Quartermaster intersection, picking trash along the beachside and the pathway from 8 a.m. to around 9 a.m.
Common items collected included aluminum cans, single use plastic water bottles and plastic bags. These and other information were recorded and submitted to the Division of Coastal Resources Management.
According to the official ICC website, the data obtained during the cleanup will go to an international solid waste management database.
ICC Coordinator Colleen Flores said there were more than 40 other locations on Saipan targeted for cleanup activities on Saturday.
