(NMC) — Adam Walsh, an assistant professor for the Northern Marianas College’s Language and Humanities department, recently had his poem chosen as the “Editor’s Choice” in the Sunspot Literary Journal.
Walsh’s poem, “[la boda la muerte mi vida],” was published by the journal, which is produced by Sun Dog Creations in Durham, North Carolina. The journal releases a digital version every quarter, and a printed edition every year.
Walsh’s poem is the first in a manuscript titled “hollow songs.” Several of his poems have been published in various other literary journals such as the Hawaii Review, The Journal, Istanbul Review, Crab Creek Review, Barrow Street, Shark Reef, The Lummox Journal and Trestle Creek Review.
“[la boda la muerte mi vida]” or “the marriage the death my life” is inspired by a lost love, an engagement and subsequent breakup, and Walsh coming to grips with such a loss through his craft: poetry.
