PHO Tam Vietnamese Cuisine, which serves the best bowl of pho on island, has added new menu items in time for its second anniversary celebration on July 8.
Pho Tam’s specialty, which is pho, remains their No. 1 culinary attraction, said restaurant owner Richer Ta, a culinary artist who graduated from Le Cordon Bleu.
Pho consists of steamy flavored broth, cooked low and slow and brimming with various kinds of meat, such as rare steak, short ribs, brisket, tendon and fresh vegetables.
There are no short cuts when cooking pho — “you can definitely taste the difference,” Ta said. The key is a minimum of 24 hours of cooking to get the maximum richness of the bones and make the soup fragrant, he added.
Ta said besides their tasty pho and other traditional dishes such as special shrimp roll, they now serve chicken pho, wonton noodles with Peking duck and fried rice.
They plan to add more dishes including beef belly pho, shaken loaded fries, shaken banh mi, and more.
“We can’t wait for everyone to try our new dishes,” Ta said.
He said their customers keep coming back because “we put love in every dish that comes out of our kitchen.”
Ta said they are “thankful to each and every one of our customers for all the love and support — we truly appreciate it.”
About five months ago, Pho Tam opened its second branch in southern California — the Pho Tam Cali which has the same menu, including boba tea and other delicious snacks available at a sister café, T Bar, on Beach Road in Garapan.
Joseph Solmarin, Pho Tam’s restaurant manager on Saipan, said they have come up with more menu items in response to the suggestions of their valued customers.
Pho Tam’s expanded menu will feature new culinary offerings, such as grilled pork chops, grilled chicken leg quarters, grilled short ribs, Vietnamese crepe and Vietnamese rice rolls, he said.
As they mark their second year, he said Pho Tam continues to improve the quality of their food and services. “We’re always open to suggestions,” he added.
“We are grateful to have been in service for two years now and we hope that we continue to meet your expectations,” he said. “We look forward to serving you for more years to come.”
