Registration for 42nd Annual Flame Tree Arts Festival starts on March 1

ARTISTS, creators, performers, vendors and organizations can register for the 42nd Annual Flame Tree Arts Festival starting on March 1, 2023.

The Commonwealth Council for Arts and Culture is the main host of the event which will be held on April 21-23, 2023, at the Civic Center Park in Susupe.

“This is an opportunity for artists to showcase their talents and products. It is also an avenue for the community to support local products and empower our local artists,” Parker Yobei, CCAC executive director, said in an interview.

He said they are anticipating a bigger festival this year since the venue is larger. Last year’s event was held at Sugar King Park.

“We are excited for this annual festival where people of different cultural backgrounds gather to appreciate and support each other’s ingenuity and culture,” Yobei said. “It is a time when we can also experience food, music and arts while appreciating diverse cultures.”

Registration forms are available for pick up at the CCAC office on Capital Hill starting on March 1, 2023.  The deadline for submission is on March 30, 2023 at 4 p.m.

There will be 60 slots for arts and crafts, and 10 slots for food vendors.

Completed food vendor forms should be submitted no later than April 3, 2023 at 4 p.m.

The festival, which is free to the public, is the island’s biggest annual celebration of the CNMI’s rich cultural heritage.
