In reality, dating back to ancient Babylonian times, there were originally 13 zodiac signs. However, the reason that we’ve only known twelve of these is because the Ancient Babylonians supposedly neglected and discarded it because they didn’t want 13 signs.
It was only in the New Year of 2011 did astrologists inform the public that the earth had changed its axis with a slight tilt, ultimately changing our zodiac charts for life.
This is the current zodiac chart:
Capricorn: Jan. 20-Feb. 16.
Aquarius: Feb. 16-March 11.
Pisces: March 11-April 18.
Aries: April 18-May 13.
Taurus: May 13-June 21.
Gemini: June 21-July 20.
Cancer: July 20-Aug. 10.
Leo: Aug. 10-Sept. 16.
Virgo: Sept. 16-Oct. 30.
Libra: Oct. 30-Nov. 23.
Scorpio: Nov. 23-29.
Ophiuchus: Nov. 29-Dec. 17 (yep — this one is new)
Sagittarius: Dec. 17-Jan. 20.
Tasha Dela Cruz from KagHS says that she will stick to her sign even with the new facts. “At first I was shocked but I will always and forever consider myself as a Libra,” she said.
Numerous other students gave out similar statements and most were outraged asking why their horoscopes HAD to change.
However, one other student from MHS was quite irritated by the complaints of others and asked to remain anonymous. “For those complaining that ‘they can’t just change my sign like this!’ — you should realize that this 13th sign has been there all along. Perhaps you should be complaining ‘I can’t believe they never included this sign in the first place!’ ”
The student added, “You are only attached to your original ‘sign’ because you were told it was ‘your sign.’ Relax a little. Oddly enough people seem to be more upset over this than with Pluto’s downgraded status.”
In comparison to the horoscope, the change in Pluto’s status from planet to rock back in August 2006 did not ignite as much controversy as the new horoscope signs. But, we have to face the reality that not everyone is ready to give up their old sign.
