Brig. Gen. Michele G. Compton, the commanding general of the 9th MSC, and Command Sgt. Maj. Forrest Wacker hosted the town hall to express their gratitude for the selfless service of the soldiers and family members.
During the town hall, Compton shared her priorities and focus areas, while Wacker offered professional development advice to the soldiers.
The leaders also opened the floor up for questions, encouraging the soldiers and families to ask anything on their minds. Compton and Wacker answered questions ranging from upcoming facility improvements and possible mission opportunities, to how to get promoted.
“It’s been a quick visit, but an important one,” said Compton, during the town hall. “I’m very impressed with the caliber of soldiers here and our mission-ready units. You all have done a phenomenal job.”
Prior to the town hall, the commanding general met with local leaders and government officials, and toured Army Reserve facilities. Compton came directly from Iraq, where she visited her deployed soldiers, including those from Guam and Saipan.
Besides Saipan and Guam, Compton’s Army Reserve command, the 9th MSC has soldiers throughout the Pacific including American Samoa, Japan, Korea, Alaska and the Hawaiian Islands.
Guam and Saipan are home to numerous subordinate units to include the 302nd Quartermaster Company; 368th Military Police Company; E Company of the 100th Battalion, 442nd Infantry Regiment; 411th Engineer Battalion’s 797th Engineer Company; the 3303rd Mobilization Support Battalion; and the Theater Support Group’s Marianas Detachment.
