Bridge Capital art contest
(Bridge Capital) — Because of the enthusiastic response from K-12 student artists and teachers to the Bridge Capital art competition, the company has increased the prizes for the winning student entries for each grade from $25 to $100.
In addition, as previously announced, the winning student classroom will receive a $100 school supply gift certificate.

THANK YOU SPECTRUM ELECTRIC. Saipan Southern High School principal Craig Garrison accepts a check for $5,000 from Joe Corella owner of Spectrum Electric. The funds were a donation for the Manta Band’s Carnegie Hall trip to New York City in April. The band continues to try and raise nearly $150,000 for the trip. WELCOME TO SAIPAN! A group of 45 teachers and students from Takushoku University in Tokyo, Japan were here in Saipan on March 8 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Pacific Ocean Memorial Monument at Banzai Cliff in Marpi. The monument, formed in the shape of a mother and daughter kneeling and praying for peace, was erected in March of 1970.
JROTC cadets clean up Obyan Beach
TWENTY-THREE Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps cadets pitched in with the Mariana Islands Nature Alliance in cleaning up Obyan Beach on Saturday.
MINA placed three new recycle containers donated by local businesses to help keep Obyan Beach clean.
CNMI Congressman Gregorio “Kilili” C. Sablan who was present at the event thanked the JROTC program for its cleanup efforts. The cadets present at the event were from Rota, Tinian, and Saipan.
