She saw that there was a need for volunteers decided to get involved. The motivating factor for her continuing to help the Red Cross is the feeling she gets when she knows she is helping people during their darkest times.
Joe Jetnil and Jerry Facey are both members of the Disaster Committee and are both the lead volunteers for logistics. Joe is also a member of the Disaster Action Team. Jerry is one of the most senior volunteers with the NMI Chapter and is also a member of the Board of Directors. Both are regular fixtures at the Chapter office.
Guadalupe Sabino is also a member of the Disaster Action Team. She is also a member of the Disaster Committee and a certified instructor for disaster classes. In addition to her volunteer work with the Red Cross, she also works at the CHC Gift Shop as a volunteer.
Gil Muna began volunteering with the Red Cross after Typhoon Chaba. He was recruited by Christy Sablan-Keptot as the relief operations for Typhoon Chaba commenced and has been active since. He is currently a member of the Disaster Committee and the Disaster Action Team. He says that he continues to be involved with the Red Cross because he enjoys helping the community. He encourages people to get involved and make a difference in the community.
