we were seated in one of the tables inside the plush exterior of the café in Garapan to feature the restaurant’s must-taste recipes.
For starters, Aldwin chose to introduce the Jumbo Combo to the Variety’s Out To Eat section. Jumbo Combo is a delectable array of five most popular appetizers in the menu. The appetizers came in an attractive, mouth-watering presentation, the servings big enough to share with friends or family.
Tantalizingly arranged in the platter you would never turn your back to are:
• Crunchy, breaded onion rings served with hickory barbeque sauce on the side.
•Hickory smoked chicken wings with barbeque sauce served with celery sticks and blue cheese dressing. This is quite on the spicy side but it’s delicious.
• Tupelo chicken tenders are perfect. Pick at the boneless, seasoned and breaded chicken tenders and dip it in honey-mustard and hickory barbeque sauce for an incomparable experience.
• Golden fried, large potato shells filled with cheese, bacon crisps, green onions and parsley bits came with a sour cream dip.
Adorning the platter is a bowl of vegetables and fried spring rolls stuffed with a heavenly mix of chicken, spinach, black beans, cilantro, corn, jalapeños, jack and cheddar cheeses. It comes with fresh salsa and guacamole dressing.
With Hard Rock Café’s appetizers, you could not say “a chicken is a chicken is a chicken.” Each recipe undergoes a different preparation that gives off a distinctive taste and leaves you craving for more.
Moving on, you couldn’t just say no to the generous serving of Twisted Macaroni with tender, grilled chicken breast and topped with cheese sauce, garlic, roasted red peppers and parmesan parsley bread crumbs. Completing the serving are garlic toasts served on the side. Not a pasta lover myself, I couldn’t help but try a generous serving and I forgot I’m not much into pasta. The grilled chicken is heavenly, leaving you with a yummy, melt-in-the-mouth taste.
Another must-have treat at the Hard Rock Café is the New York steak which is a 12-ounce piece of mouth-watering Angus Beef grilled to suit your taste. Topped with a scoop of Merlot butter, it comes with gravy sauce on top of mashed potatoes.
Chef Roderick “Boyet” Galindo says you can have your steak rare, medium, medium rare or well-done.
“It’s a matter of personal preference when it comes to steak,” he said.
For cocktails, restaurant manager Anna Rose Ching introduced two drinks- the Blue Hawaiian drink, and the exotic margarita.
Blue Hawaiian is a concoction of Malibu coco wine, blue Curracao and pineapple. Exotic Margarita is a delightful mix of sauza Tequila, contreau or orange syrup, Monin pomegranate syrup and margarita.
“These are our bestsellers in cocktails, but we have a wide choice for different customers,” Rose said.
A dining experience at the Hard Rock Café is worth every dime you will spend. Eating in a restaurant with a lively ambiance and surrounded with hundreds of rock memorabilia collection that has made the rounds in Hard Rock outlets all over the world is quite an experience.
Hard Rock Café is open from 10 am to 10:30 pm but Aldwin says they are planning to have late night happy hours soon. He says that more events are coming up as Hard Rock Saipan celebrates their 10th year anniversary in September. For more information, please call Hard Rock Café at 233-7625/7647, fax 233-7624.
