Providing the best taxi service on island

Its 15 members will undergo more training so they can continue to provide the best services to their customers.

As a tourist-oriented sector, taxis are in the forefront of presenting the island’s attractions to its visitors, said the group’s leader Rabby Syed.

He said they want tourists and their local customers to be assured that the group’s taxis are “safe to ride and are secure.”

They now wear a new uniform, Syed said, to “show that we are professionals who treat our  tourists well.”

He said their group wants its good reputation to be known not only on Saipan but also abroad.

Established in 2001, their group continues to maintain a high quality of service because “each member is an experienced and qualified taxi driver,” Syed said.

They are all advocates for safety and good service, he added.

Before this year ends, all members will undergo safety training in handling children with the Department of Public Safety.

Syed said he will also undergo a training program on customer loyalty.

Next year, he added, their group will have programs beneficial to its members.

One of their “secrets,” he said, is to restrict membership to disciplined drivers with no record of misconduct.

They also look into the employment history of a driver who wants to join the group.
