Friends of the Arts announces availability of season tickets
(Friends of the Arts) — IN an effort to acknowledge the challenging economic times, while still providing quality community entertainment, the Friends of the Arts proudly announces the availability of season tickets for FOA members.
Season tickets will provide discounted access to the quickly approaching “The Darker Side of Broadway” later this month, as well as to the upcoming Christmas, Valentines and Spring productions of the season. Anyone interested in Friends of the Arts membership and Season Tickets can contact Frank Gibson at flgibson@yahoo.com for more information.
The first opportunity to use FOA season tickets comes in time for All Hallows Eve. Dubbed “The Darker Side of Broadway,” a very intriguing yet brilliantly conceived title promises a collection of powerful, meaningful and moving repertoire although not necessarily all dark, sinister and shady. While there are songs that thrive in the boundary of conflict and tragic characters, there are also songs of the contrary, full of hope and compassion for life. The three series of stories in this concert each feature a villain. These so-called villains however are not always entirely evil. One was an unfortunate result of a bad experiment; the other was a victim of social injustice and even worse was denied the truth and our last fiend from Oz was a matter fact very ideal and good natured.
She was simply misunderstood. Regardless of whatever conflict our characters were in, good always found its way to conquer evil.
Friends of the Arts proudly presents a cast of great singers and a show you don’t want to miss this coming Halloween. So before you go out trick or treating, stop by the Visitor Center of American Memorial Park on Oct. 28, 29 and 30 for yet another enjoyable production. Shows start at 7 p.m. and tickets are available at the door or from any FOA board member.

More generous donors support the Red Cross
(American Red Cross) — Joeten Foundation, Bank of Hawaii and Exotic Minis/Team Exotic Car Club have provided financial donations to the NMI chapter of the American Red Cross to support the Club 200 event.
“Big or small, every donation is important to the chapter” said event co-chair Jocelyn Deleon Guerrero. “The Joeten Charitable Foundation and Bank of Hawaii have been key corporate sponsors over the years, but even a low profile car club like Exotic Minis has been donating to the Chapter for over 7 years,” said Deleon Guerrero. We are grateful for everyone’s support!
The Club 200 is the NMI chapter’s signature fundraising dinner. It provides the financial means in which the chapter can fulfill its humanitarian mission of helping those in need, particularly after a major natural disaster.
This year’s event will feature a large raffle drawing with a grand prize of $15,000 and over 40 other prizes. There will also be a silent auction and a treasure chest promotion. Tickets for the treasure chest will be $10 and offer a chance to open one of three chests that will include valuable prizes including a Kawasaki brush cutter. Support the Red Cross here in the CNMI by buying your ticket for this Saturday’s event at Fiesta Resort. Call 234-3459 for more information or where to purchase tickets.
