10 hospitalizations; 75 additional Covid-19 cases

(Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.) — As of March 5, 2022, there were 10 individuals hospitalized as a result of Covid-19:

One was unvaccinated, eight were vaccinated and one was partially vaccinated.

One of the 10 was on a ventilator.

CHCC also reported on Saturday evening that 75 additional individuals had been confirmed positive for Covid-19, bringing the CNMI total to 10,074 cases since March 26, 2020. Some duplicates have been deleted.

Of the 75 cases identified on March 4, 2022, four were identified on Tinian.

A total of 98 Covid-19 vaccine shots were administered on March 5, 2022. Of the eligible population, 57.3% have received an additional dose. The vaccination rate is calculated using the 2020 Census population estimates for the CNMI and includes the eligible 5-year-olds and older population and was recently corrected.

The vaccination statuses of the 75 new cases identified are pending verification.

A total of 469 Covid-19 tests were conducted on March 4, 2022:

424 via Community-Based Testing;

44 at Koblerville Covid-19 Community Center; and

1 at Rota Health Center

Of the total cases identified, as of March 4, 2022, there  were 9,481 recoveries and  563 active cases.

9,388 of the cases were identified via community testing and 686 through travel testing.

Since March 2020, there have been  30 Covid-19-related deaths in the CNMI.
