THE Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. on Sunday said of the CNMI’s 9th and 10th Covid-19-related deaths, one was vaccinated while the other was not.
Of the total 10 Covid-19 fatalities since March 2020, three were vaccinated individuals.
Two of the fatalities passed away before the Covid-19 vaccines became accessible to the CNMI.
The Covid-19 Task Force and CHCC confirmed the 9th and 10th deaths on Christmas, Dec. 25.
As of Dec. 25, 2021, there were 2,853 cases confirmed positive for Covid-19 in the CNMI, of which nearly 90% were identified through community screening.
1,178 individuals were confirmed via community-based testing or at CHCC; 1,372 via contact tracing; and 303 via travel screening.
Of those identified through travel screening, 157 originated from the U.S. Mainland, 90 from a U.S. territory, and 56 from an international jurisdiction.
34 cases were confirmed positive for Covid-19 on Christmas Eve and are included in the 2,853 total cases.
The individuals have been isolated and are actively monitored.
