2 men charged for stealing chain link fence

Kelly Kelulau Ngirameked and Kerr Joe Rechirei were both charged with one count of grand larceny for stealing a roll of chain link fence on May 13, 2008.

Ngirameked appeared in court on November 20 for a hearing and he entered a plea of not guilty to his charge.Ngirameked was released from custody after he posted a $500 surety bond.The affidavit of probable cause submitted in court states that on May 26, 200, Bureau of Public Safety received report that authorities discovered a rolled chain link fence at the CT Auto Shop in Airai which was similar to the stolen chain link fence at a residence in Ngerchemai.The affidavit states that a manager of the shop told police that a Palauan man driving a green garbage truck along with another Palauan male came to their shop a month ago and sold 100 feet roll of chain link fence.The affidavit states that the defendants admitted of taking the item when they collected trash at Koror.The defendants admitted on May 27 that they collected trash and took one roll of chain link fence at an under construction building site beside Tree-D Motel in Ngerchemai Hamlet.The defendants admitted that they sold the stolen item at the CT Auto Repair Shop in Airai for $30.
