28th and 29th Covid-19-related deaths; 139 additional cases

(CHCC) — The Governor’s Covid-19 Task Force and the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.  confirmed the CNMI’s 28th and 29th Covid-19-related death on Friday evening.  

As of Feb. 25, 2022, there were seven individuals hospitalized as a result of Covid-19:

Five were vaccinated, and two were partially vaccinated.

One of the seven was on a ventilator.

 139 additional individuals have been confirmed positive for Covid-19, bringing the CNMI total to 9,404 cases since March 26, 2020.

Of the 139 cases identified on Feb. 24, 2022:

Seven were identified on Tinian, and five on Rota.

A total of 75 Covid-19 vaccine shots were administered on Feb. 25, 2022. Of the eligible population, 56.3% have received an additional dose. The vaccination rate is calculated using the 2020 Census population estimates for the CNMI and includes the eligible 5-year-olds and older population.

The vaccination statuses of the 139 new cases identified are pending verification.

A total of 653 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Feb. 24, 2022:

519 via Community-Based Testing;

115 at Koblerville Covid-19 Community Center; and

19 at Rota Health Center.

Of the total cases identified, as of Feb. 24, 2022, there were 8,507 recoveries and 868 active cases.

8,751 of the cases were identified via community testing and 653 through travel testing.
