3 men arrested for domestic violence

THE Department of Public Safety arrested Kenneth L. Gomez, 26, Bradley D. Palacios, 30, and Jeffrey M. Greene, 34, in separate incidents of domestic violence last week.

Gomez was charged with assault and battery, strangulation, interfering with domestic violence report, and disturbing the peace.

According to the complaint against Gomez, he had a dispute with his girlfriend who accused him of spending money on methamphetamine.

An argument ensued and escalated when she began yelling at him.

She said he then began slapping the right side of her face, and at some point, Gomez pulled her hair and choked her neck using his arm.

Represented by Chief Public Defender Douglas Hartig, Gomez appeared before Superior Court Associate Judge Teresa Kim-Tenorio on April 25.

The judge imposed a $20,000 cash bail and remanded the defendant to the custody of the Department of Corrections after the hearing.

He was ordered to return to court on May 4 at 10 a.m. for a preliminary hearing and on May 9 at 9 a.m. for an arraignment.

Bradley Palacios was charged with assault, assault and battery, assault with a dangerous weapon, and disturbing the peace.

Palacios, who is also represented by the Public Defender’s Office, appeared at a bail hearing on April 25 before Judge Kim-Tenorio who set bail at $25,000 cash.

After the hearing, the judge remanded Palacios to the custody of Corrections and ordered him to return to court on May 4 at 9 a.m. for a preliminary hearing, and on May 9 at 9 a.m. for an arraignment.

Police said Palacios threatened to kill his wife.

The victim told police that prior to the incident, they were in her grandmother’s pickup truck on the way to the store.

She said when she reminded him he needed to fix the truck, Palacios got mad and took out pliers which he pointed at her, and told her to stop or he was going to stab her.

When they arrived at the store, she said she got out of the truck, but Palacios got mad and told her to get back in the truck,

Once at their apartment, she said Palacios told her to go inside or else he would beat her up.

Inside the apartment while they continued to argue, she said Palacios took a kitchen knife and placed it on her throat. Palacios later left the apartment in the pickup truck.

She then called 911 and was advised to call back when Palacios returned.

Later that evening, when Palacios came back to the apartment, the wife called the police.

She said when Palacios entered their room, she stood up and walked out but he followed her and grabbed her. She said he held her tight to stop her from moving.

When she broke free, she ran toward the door, but she said Palacios pushed her from behind causing her to hit her head on the door.

Chief Prosecutor Chester Hinds represented the government in the cases against Gomez and Palacios.

As for Jeffrey Greene, he is accused of taking his girlfriend’s phone and slapping her face with the phone causing her nose to bleed and bruising her left eye.

The victim told police that Greene also prevented her from leaving the residence.

Greene was charged with assault, assault and battery, domestic violence, and disturbing the peace.

Associate Judge Joseph N. Camacho imposed a $10,000 bail on Greene at a bail hearing on April 22.

Assistant Public Defender Jean Pierre Nogues represented Greene while Assistant Attorney General Heather Barcinas appeared for the government.

Judge Camacho remanded Greene to the custody of Corrections and ordered him to return to court on April 29 at 10 a.m. for a preliminary hearing and on May 2 at 10 a.m. for an arraignment.
