Fingeo, said the two Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) were assigned at the Palaris and the hospital.
JOCV Ami Sato was detailed to Palaris as a Surveyor. Sato holds a degree in Civil Engineering and has extensive experience in maintenance, repair, and disaster recovery of the roads and bridges in Japan.
Kazuhiko Saeki, meanwhile is the newest Physical Therapist and assigned to the Belau National Hospital.
The three Senior Volunteers, on the other hand, were dispatched to the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Public Infrastructure, Industries and Commerce.
Hiroe Saito is assigned to the Ministry of Education’s Division of Curriculum and Instruction as a mathematics curriculum advisor. She will be replacing Tokio Nakamura who is returning to Japan.
Koji Horie is a Civil Engineer who will be working with the Solid Waste Management Office of the Bureau of Public Works. While, Kenichi Tezuka is a System Engineer assigned to the Ministry of Justice. His work will be to continue the improvement of the database system of the Ministry.
Fingeo, said the five volunteers arrived last January 5, 2010 and they will stay in Palau for two years.
Sending JICA volunteers in Palau started in 1997. JICA sent volunteers four times a year and they stay in the Republic for a period of two years.
