7 hospitalizations; 34 new Covid-19 cases

(Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.) — As of March 23, 2022, there were seven individuals hospitalized as a result of Covid-19.

CHCC also reported Wednesday evening that 34 additional individuals had been confirmed positive for Covid-19, bringing the CNMI total to 10,985 cases since March 28, 2020.

Of the 34 cases identified on March 22, 2022, two were on Tinian, and six on Rota.

A total of 25 Covid-19 vaccine shots were administered on March 22, 2022. Of the eligible population, 59.3% have received an additional dose. The vaccination rate is calculated using the 2020 Census population estimates for the CNMI and includes the eligible 5-year-olds and older population.

The vaccination statuses of the 34 new cases identified are pending verification.

A total of 314 Covid-19 tests were conducted on March 22, 2022:

256 via Community-Based Testing;

23 at Koblerville Covid-19 Community Center; and

35 at Rota Health Center.

Some duplicate cases were deleted. Rota recorded 196 cases from March 2 to March 22, 2022.

Of the total cases identified, as of March 22, 2022, there were 10,811 recoveries  and 143 active cases.

Of the cases, 10,205 were identified via  community testing and 780 through travel testing.

Since March 2020, there have been 31 Covid-19-related deaths in the CNMI.
