(Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.) — 80 additional individuals have been confirmed positive for Covid-19, bringing the CNMI total to 4,772 cases since March 26, 2020, CHCC reported on Saturday evening.
The individuals have been isolated and are actively monitored.
Of the 80 cases identified on Jan. 28, 2022, sixty were identified via contact tracing, 15 via community testing and 5 via travel testing.
One was identified on Tinian, and three on Rota.
As of Jan. 29, 2022, there were 10 individuals hospitalized as a result of Covid-19: 5 were unvaccinated, 4 were vaccinated and one was partially vaccinated. One of the 10 was on a ventilator.
A total of 371 Covid-19 vaccines were administered on Jan. 29, 2022, resulting in 99.2% of the CNMI's eligible population being fully vaccinated.
The vaccination statuses of the 80 new cases identified are pending verification.
A total of 769 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Jan. 28, 2022:
477 via community-based testing;
234 at the Covid-19 Community Center (referrals only);
9 at the Tinian Health Center; and
49 at the Rota Health Center.
Of the total cases identified, as of Jan. 27, 2022, there had been 4,043 recoveries and 706 active cases.
2,200 of the cases were identified via contact tracing; 2,033, community testing; and 539 travel testing.
There have been 23 Covid-19-related deaths since March 2020.
