(Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.) — Ninety-six additional individuals were confirmed positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday, bringing the CNMI total to 4,440 cases since March 26, 2020. The individuals have been isolated and are actively monitored.
Of the 96 cases identified on Jan. 25, 2022:
32 were identified via contact tracing, 55 via community testing, and 9 via travel testing. Four were identified on Rota.
As of Jan. 26, 2022, there were 8 individuals hospitalized as a result of Covid-19:
5 were unvaccinated, 2 vaccinated, and 1 partially vaccinated. 2 of the 8 were on a ventilator.
A total of 118 Covid-19 vaccines were administered on Jan. 26, 2022, resulting in 98.8% of the CNMI’s eligible population being fully vaccinated.
The vaccination statuses of the 96 new cases identified are pending verification.
A total of 544 Covid-19 tests were conducted on Jan. 25, 2022:
396 via community-based testing;
82 at the Covid-19 Community Center (referrals only);
2 at the Tinian Health Center; and
64 at the Rota Health Center.
Of the total cases identified, as of Jan. 25, 2022:, there had been 3,926 recoveries and 492 active cases.
2,023 of the cases were identified via contact tracing; 1,901, community testing; and 516, travel testing.
Since March 2020, there have been 22 Covid-19-related deaths in the CNMI.
