A TEAM with the Transnational Association of Christian Colleges and Schools or TRACS has completed its accreditation evaluation of EUCON International University.
The TRACS team members arrived separately on Oct. 1, 2022, and held their initial meeting on Oct. 3 to review the evaluation schedule and materials. They also participated in an orientation conducted by the chair, Dr. Peter Lee. He discussed the evaluation procedures and mentioned the confidentiality of the process as he asked the members to work as objectively as possible.
The team was given access to all needed information to enable a careful review of the EIU. They expressed gratitude and appreciation for the gracious reception and hospitality during their visit.
An evaluation team’s report may include commendations, findings, recommendations, and suggestions.
• Commendations are given when the institution’s performance in a specific area exceeds TRACS standard requirements and do not require follow-up by the institution.
• Findings are given when the institution is found to be in non-compliance or possible non-compliance with TRACS standards and/or federal requirements also known as Institutional Eligibility Requirements or IERs.
• Recommendations are given when the institution is deemed to be in non-compliance or possible non-compliance with TRACS standards or non-IER TRACS standards.
• Suggestions are not related to an area of non-compliance with TRACS standards and are given when, in the professional judgment of the evaluation team, specified areas should be considered and appropriately addressed.
EUCON International University received two recommendations and 10 suggestions.
According to EIU President Dr. Christian Wei, EUCON is already in the process of answering the two recommendations and is ready to respond to the 10 suggestions as well even though these will not impact its accreditation status.
It is a joyful moment for EIU since they have worked so hard to accomplish another 10 years of accreditation, Dr. Wei said.
“It is a historical moment for the CNMI as EUCON International University continues to strive to better the CNMI in the area of higher education,” Dr. Wei added.
