The new project will benefit at least 23 kids and seven teachers who have been using an outhouse prior to the completion of the facility.
SW1 Mike Barbee, Project Manager of Civic Action Team 01-25 said that the project which was completed Nov. 13, is a 12 x24 foot bathroom facility composed of the boys, girls and a staff shower facility.
Barbee said that the facility is erected right next to the Angaur Elementary School.
The facility is the biggest project of the Navy Team whose deployment will end January 2010.
The facility was funded by the United States Pacific Command in the amount of $250,000.
Barbee said that the Minister of Education and the Angaur State Government has made a request in February for assistance in construction of the project.
The project commenced in June but its completion has been delayed due to the weather and sea condition.
The team in completing the project was assisted by apprentices, Henry Sablan, Wayman Selbart and Roldan Renguul.
The team will soon officially turnover the project to the Angaur State.
