ASHLEY Kost, the former Office of the Public Auditor legal counsel, is now a prosecutor of the U.S Attorney’s Office for the Districts of Guam and the NMI.
“Yes, I am at the U.S. Attorney’s Office,” she told Variety. “I was sworn in on Monday, Feb. 27th.”
Kost went to the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, Minnesota, where she got her bachelor’s degree in political science.
She attended the University of Iowa College of Law and received her law degree in 2012.
Kost arrived on Saipan in October 2012 to work as OPA legal counsel.
In 2016, after passing the CNMI Bar examination, she was sworn in by Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexandro C. Castro for local court cases. For federal cases, she was sworn in by Chief Judge Ramona V. Manglona of the District Court for the NMI on Aug. 6, 2020.
A private attorney, Kathryn Fuller, is now serving as OPA’s legal counsel, Variety learned.
Fuller was one of the attorneys who represented the Anaks Ocean View Hill Saipan Homeowners Association in its petition to have the Superior Court review the decision of the Commonwealth Zoning Board in granting a conditional permit use application for Atkins Kroll’s Lexus dealership and 27-bay repair and autobody shop in Puerto Rico.
