HAGÅTÑA (The Guam Daily Post) — A man accused of assaulting a woman known to him told police upon being arrested, “I did it all. Arrest me!”
On Tuesday morning, officers with the Guam Police Department responded to a disturbance in Dededo and met with a woman who accused Rauheen Ryan Pangelinan, 35, of assaulting her.
According to the magistrate’s complaint, earlier in the day, Pangelinan called the woman “derogatory names” before he allegedly punched the woman’s left arm. The woman pushed and slapped Pangelinan to protect herself, the complaint said.
“The defendant then picked up a metal broom and used the broom to hit the victim’s back, which caused the broom to bend and break. The victim locked herself in the car and contacted 911,” the complaint stated.
The woman also explained that the night before, Pangelinan was yelling at the woman while she was in the driver’s seat before allegedly kicking the woman’s chair.
“After yelling at the defendant to stop, the defendant kicked her face from the back seat,” the complaint stated.
Officers saw the woman had a bruise and cut under her right eye, along with two parallel cuts on her back. Officers then found a metal broom which Pangelinan allegedly used to hit her back.
The complaint states Pangelinan allegedly told officers, “I did it all. Arrest me!”
Pangelinan was charged with aggravated assault as a third-degree felony and family violence as a third-degree felony and as a misdemeanor. He faces seven years if convicted of the charges, according to the Office of the Attorney General.
