Gov. Ralph DLG Torres, Board of Education Chairman Andrew L. Orsini and Non-Public School Representative to the BOE and Saipan International School headmaster Dr. Ronald Snyder attend the opening of the two-day, first-ever Northern Mariana Islands Model United Nations competition at Aqua Resort Club Saipan on Monday. The 60 participating students are from Saipan International School, Marianas High School, Grace Christian Academy, Mount Carmel School, Saipan Seventh-day Adventist School, Saipan Community School, Green Meadow School and Northern Marianas International School. The event is hosted by Saipan International School’s Model United Nations Club and its goal is to give students an opportunity to improve their public speaking skills and obtain a broader global perspective of today’s issues.
