Basilius is nominated to HOD

The petition was filed yesterday.  Most of the signatories in the petition are senior citizens and of significant status in Ngchesar State.The initiators of the nominating petition are Rechesengel Suburo Anastacio, William Tabelual, Gabriel Wasisang, Mrs. Losau Ngirngotel, and Leo Ruluked.Moreover, fifty other registered voters of the states, many of whom are in their 50’s or older, have signed the petition indicating their support and confidence of Basilius to represent them and the State of Ngchesar as a delegate in the 8th OEK.Basilius had accepted the nomination and had filed the nominating petition with the Palau Election Commission.  In doing so, he has officially declared to run for a seat in the HOD and has secured a spot for his name on the ballot in the November 04, 2008 General Election. In addition, the filing of the nominating petition stipulates that Basilius has met the qualifications for membership of the OEK  – that he is a citizen of Palau; not under 25 years of age; has lived in Palau for the past 5 years; is a registered voted of Ngchesar State; and has an established residency in the state.
