COMMANDER Travis Spaeth, the Bureau of Environmental and Coastal Quality safe drinking water and ground water management program manager, on Thursday received the Patriotic Employer Award from Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Guam-CNMI Area Chair Rita A. Sablan, Ed.D. and Employer Outreach Coordinator Rose Igitol.
Spaeth, who is also a U.S. Public Health Services environmental engineer, was nominated by BECQ Safe Drinking Water Environmental Specialist Aloysius Atalig, a U.S. Army reservist.
Atalig said Spaeth is a patriot and an outstanding environmental engineer.
“Commander Spaeth doesn’t give me a hard time whenever I get called for service,” Atalig said. “He understands my situation, and he understands that when I am on military leave, it will hurt our office, but he believes in the calling of patriots.”
