Beckingham in a reception said that the issue of climate change is one of those important issues in the world.
He said that it is important that smaller countries like Palau support the climate change efforts.Beckingham said that Palau has been an ally in several issues, showing it though support in the United Nations, Pacific Island Forum.He added that Palau also showed its support with Britain on the independence of Kosovo.Beckingham also noted that Palau has been supporting Britain on key positions in the UN.“We value Palau’s support, for that we are showing our appreciation,” he said.He added that Palau will also benefitting from an upcoming project involving economic governance.Beckingham in an interview said that the project involves almost 100 pounds and have been launched in other countries.Palau, he said is also benefitted from projects of the European Union, in which , UK is a one of the biggest donor.These projects he said include solar lighting, conservation projects among others.
