IN collaboration with the Center for Living Independently, the Commonwealth Healthcare Corporation Family Care Clinic and Health Disparities Program completed their first mobile clinic outreach and provided services at the CNMI Center for Living Independently on Oct. 3, 2022, for consumers and their immediate family members.
The CHCC mobile clinic outreach team provided services between the hours of8 a.m. and 12 noon and as a result saw a total of 23 individuals with disabilities. Medical services provided ranged from adult routine check-up with a medical provider, nurse visits for vital signs, and administration of flu vaccines.
Additionally, the Health Disparities Program community health workers were able to assist patients in scheduling upcoming medical appointments at their preferred primary care clinic, referrals to internal and external programs, and assist with filling out applications for Medicaid.
The CHCC mobile clinic outreach team consisted of Family Care Clinic staff Christine Strong, physician assistant; and Abbys Mitchell, clinic manager/registered nurse. They have years of experience providing medical services and care to the CNMI public. The Health Disparities Program consists of Halina S. Palacios, chief of clinic services; Evonnie Pangelinan, program coordinator; Raynalynn Sablan, program administrative assistant; Robin Romero, community health worker team lead; Tiffany Mae Deco, health worker; and Thomas Joe Dela Cruz, community health worker/driver. They have been working diligently to ensure the success of the launching of the CHCC mobile clinic outreach operations.
The Health Disparities Program will be conducting their next outreach at Northern Marianas College on Oc. 14, 2022 between the hours of 8 a.m. and 12 noon. Target population will be NMC faculty and students, but walk-ins are available to the general public. The following services will be provided: pap smears, breast exams, prenatal care, post-partum care, family planning, health education resources, referral services and STI/STD testing.
