Community volunteer appreciates lawmakers’ support

COMMUNITY volunteer Max Aguon expressed his appreciation to U.S. Congressman Gregorio Kilili Camacho Sablan, Rep. John Paul Sablan, Rep. Ed Propst, and former Rep. Tina Sablan for supporting Aguon’s advocacy for a clean and healthy environment.

Aguon said these officials and their offices provide him supplies for his cleanup efforts.

“On my days off, I do my best to beautify our island,” he added. “Last Saturday, from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., I cleaned up the Marpi tourist areas. On Sunday, I cleaned some areas of the Chalan Kanoa cemetery, then from San Jose traffic intersection to Puerto Rico. I picked up trash on the roadways.”

Aguon said he collected a total of 14 trash bags during his two-day cleanup.

He is also grateful to DPA Car Mart in San Antonio for donating a pick-up truck that Aguon uses for his cleanup activities; and to JEMCO Ltd., which operates the CMG San Jose Mobil Gas Station, for providing him a monthly $100 gasoline allowance.

Aguon is a community volunteer who has received many commendations and awards for his volunteer efforts in cleaning up tourist sites and promoting awareness to protect the environment.
