
Commissioner of Education Dr. Lawrence F. Camacho and Public School System Senior Director for Instructional Services Jackie Quitugua accompanied Dr. Carissa Moffat Miller, seated, 2nd right, background, the executive officer of the Council of Chief State Schools Officers, on a tour of Rota’s two public schools on Nov. 25: Sinapalo Elementary School and Dr. Rita Hocog Inos Junior-Senior High School. In her first visit to Rota, Miller spoke with students, teachers, and staff, and observed classroom instruction. “From the smiling faces of school staff and personnel, to their energy, and the enthusiasm of students, you can feel that this is a celebration of education,” she said. The CCSSO is a nonpartisan organization of elementary and secondary education officials throughout the U.S., including the District of Columbia, the Department of Defense Education Activity, the Bureau of Indian Education and the five U.S. territories.
