MARIANAS Variety is inviting the islands’ elementary school students to participate in the 2024 Draw Your Teacher contest.
The competition is our way of honoring teachers on World Teachers’ Day. The submission deadline is Friday, Sept. 20.
Participating students should be in grades one to five. The contest is open to students in public and private schools.
Your artwork should “show how much you appreciate” your teacher.
Variety will judge the entries on the following criteria:
Interpretation of the theme; originality and artistic quality; visual elements; and overall impression.
We will award one winner from each grade level. Gift packages will be given to the winning students as well as to the teacher they honored in the drawing.
Schools have been notified of the competition, and students may submit their work to school administrative staff. Each entry should indicate the participant’s name, grade level, school and teacher’s name.
Artwork can also be submitted electronically at mvariety.com/DrawYourTeacher/.
The winning artwork will be published in Variety’s special issue on Oct. 4, World Teachers Day.
“As we continue to create projects for the CNMI community, we are looking forward to not only providing this opportunity to young artists, but also to spotlight students’ appreciation for their second home,” said Hazel Sadian, Variety’s sales and marketing supervisor.
