(SIS) — In a stunning show of generosity and enduring school spirit, Quincy and Amanda Johnson — beloved alumni and proud  “Forever Geckos” of Saipan International School — donated the grand prize for the SIS 30-Year Gala: a boat, engine and trailer.

The donation reflects the Johnsons’ deep and lasting legacy at SIS, one rooted in decades of family involvement and personal milestones. Children of Roland Johnson, one of SIS’s founding members and an ongoing pillar of support, Quincy and Amanda have remained connected to the school long after graduation. Their gift of a boat for the school’s anniversary celebration is just the latest expression of their enduring love for the SIS community.

Quincy, who began at Smith Academy before it transformed into SIS in the early 1990s, was known for his athletic drive and his contributions to sports on campus — especially swimming and basketball. He went on to represent Saipan in numerous swimming competitions and now lives in Italy at Aviano Air Base with his wife, BJ Castro, and their son, Oscar.

Amanda’s SIS journey began in pre-kindergarten and lasted 12 years. Known for her early love of learning, Amanda also made lasting contributions that are still visible on campus today. The Gecko plush toy collection — now over 50 strong — began with her first donation, and her childhood dollhouse remains a favorite fixture on the school playground. Amanda now lives in Las Vegas with her husband, Conor Eavey, and their daughters, Brielle and Georgia.

Though they now live thousands of miles away, Quincy and Amanda never miss an opportunity to visit SIS when they’re on-island, always offering heartfelt encouragement and support. Their gift of the Gala boat prize is a testament to their commitment to the school that helped shape their lives and to the values they continue to uphold.

SIS is honored by the generosity of the Johnson family and grateful for their unwavering dedication to the Gecko spirit.
