On Oct. 26, 2024, World Sight Day, Lion Lindie Mae Moleno, Melvin Jones Fellow and District 204 vision co-chair; Saipan Unity Lions Club President Lion Caroline Tamparong, MJF; and other club members distributed free reading glasses to 171 individuals during Sabalu Market at Marianas Business Plaza in Susupe. World Sight Day, established in 2000 through the Lions Club International Foundation’s SightFirst Campaign, is a significant global event focused on preventing blindness and supporting those with visual impairments. To facilitate global outreach, the foundation collaborates with the World Health Organization.
