THREE new barbers are now ready to serve customers at Jigz, Marianas Variety’s 2024 Best of the Marianas winner for Best Barbershop.
Charles Pallet, Renz Leturgo, and Mark Hatap began working at the Chalan Kanoa-based barbershop on June 6 and are eager to style customers who walk through the door or call for an appointment.
Pallet, who previously operated a private hair service in Manila, told Variety he brings more than a decade of experience to Jigz, offering a wide range of services. These include makeup services, hair rebonding, highlights, and various hairstyles for both men and women.
“For men,” he said, “I specialize in burst fades, mid fades, taper fades, army cuts, and much more.”
Pallet also offers balayage treatments on an appointment and consultation basis, with pricing depending on hair length and type.
Asked in what service he excels, Pallet confidently replied: “All of the above.”
Leturgo said he specializes in taper fades, which have become “easy” for him because of their popularity among his customers. In addition to taper fades, he offers mid fades, high tapers, mullets, and other trending styles.
“Any haircut for men, I can do,” Leturgo said. “Designs, hair art — any type of haircut, I can offer.”
Hatap describes himself as a men’s haircut specialist. He specializes in taper fades, burst fades, and mid, low, and high fades, as well as blowout taper fades. He also offers hair designs and art.
“Visit this barbershop if you want good quality haircuts,” Hatap said. “Just call.”
Jigz is open Monday to Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Sunday, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
