LATTE Built gym is now located in the heart of Chalan Kanoa following a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Saturday, Dec. 9 led by owner-operator Derek Cutting and his staff.
The new Latte Built is on Beach Road, directly in front of Aquarius Beach Tower.
Dozens of supporters and gym members were present to tour the facility on Saturday.
Cutting said the new two-story facility features various new strength machines.
Variety toured the new amenities, including the first-floor recovery spa, which features an infrared sauna and a commercial cold-plunge tub.
The gym also features a mixed martial arts cage, Olympic weightlifting platforms, a large artificial turf area, a new fleet of spin bikes, a yoga and exercise studio, and shower and locker rooms.
Cutting said he was excited to have completed the major renovations, which began in July.
The gym will continue to operate on a 24/7 basis, and for December, the recovery spa facility will be open to all members, Cutting said.
But there will be a price change sometime in January 2024, and the recovery spa will only be accessible to gym members who subscribe to a higher membership price tier.
2023 Pacific Games bodybuilding gold medalist Christina Tudela, who was present at the ribbon-cutting ceremony, expressed her support for Latte Built.
“I’m really excited that these guys have their grand opening today,” she said. “We’ve all been there and seen them come from the bottom and now they’re here.”
Tudela trains at Latte Built and said the facility is a crucial part of her fitness journey.
“Since we just finished the Pacific Games we definitely got more doors opening up,” she said. “I got invited to compete in New Caledonia and there are other competitions out there. [Latte Built] will definitely play a vital role in how we progress and build ourselves further,” she added.
Tudela and gym owner Cutting are also winners of the local Dee Clayton Classic bodybuilding contest in their respective divisions.
Tudela said she’s looking forward to the recovery spa to aid in her further development as a bodybuilder.
“During prep season it’s really important that we’re breaking our bodies, but at the same time we got to recover faster,” she said. “Having the sauna and the ice bath will really, really help in that.”
At Latte Built, the rate for a one-month membership begins at $65, with a $10 key fee for new members. Other rates are available.

This sauna uses infrared technology to heat the space, and can fit three to four people comfortably. It also has Bluetooth capabilities — members can connect their phone to it.

This cold plunge tub is a feature of the recovery spa at Latte Built. For December its use is open to all general members, but Latte Built owner Derek Cutting said a price change is coming in 2024.
A Latte Built member uses the punching bags in the gym. Behind the punching bags is the gym’s new mixed martial arts cage.
