CK Smoke House & Salad in Chalan Kanoa will host a tarot reading event from Oct. 30 to Nov. 3, 2024.
Tarot master Hera Kim, who will arrive from Chuncheon-si, South Korea, will share with participants the meaning behind their past, present and future during a 30-minute tarot reading per person. Participants must be available from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
CK Smoke House & Salad is located next to the U.S. Post Office in Chalan Kanoa, behind Moon Night Fashion Store on Beach Road.
Kim, 47, has been performing counseling-related work for over 15 years, and has majored in psychology as a doctoral student at Yonsei University in Korea.
In an email interview, Kim, also known as Dae Eun Kim, said about five years ago, she began incorporating tarot techniques into her counseling.
Kim, who runs a YouTube channel, said tarot is a form of Western divination that has been around for a long time. She said it can be partially understood as part of modern psychological counseling.
Tarot can serve as a guideline for understanding oneself, reading the energy around you, predicting future situations, and providing guidance, Kim said.
However, she said, rather than relying entirely on tarot and expecting an exact answer, “you can make wise decisions by using tarot to accurately identify your current problems and provide advice on your future choices.”
There is no fixed fate, she said. “What choices you make will determine the quality and direction of your life. Tarot could be one of your great advisors in making the right choice in your life,” she added.
To join the tarot reading event, participants must make a minimum purchase of $10 at CK Smoke House & Salad, and must follow its Facebook page @CK SMOKEHOUSE & SALAD, and Instagram account @CK_SMOKEHOUSE. They must also “like” the Facebook post and share it. In addition, interested participants are urged to tag their friends and loved ones.
