JOSE and Marcia Ayuyu proudly announce the graduation of their youngest daughter, Maria Pilar Kanako Erra Ayuyu. Maria received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting from Bentley University on May 17, 2025.
The private university, located in Boston, Massachusetts, is known for its school of accounting and finance. The university ranks #2 in “Best Regional Universities of the North” and is ranked the 11th best college in the U.S. by the Wall Street Journal.
Maria is proud to be among the few students from the CNMI to pursue and complete a degree in Accountancy. “I chose to pursue this degree because I wanted to challenge myself and to make my parents proud. By attending Bentley University, I feel that it was the perfect school because it offered the things that mattered to me — a small university, quality education and a unique college experience on the East Coast,” says Maria.
Today, she remains in Boston as she prepares to become a Certified Public Accountant. “I look forward to moving back home in the future so that I can help in the family business as it continues to grow,” she adds. Maria is a proud Alumknight, graduating from Mount Carmel School in May 2021.
“We are very proud of our daughter and her accomplishments. She’s worked hard to achieve her goals and she made it happen,” says her father Jose Ayuyu.
Jose and Marcia Ayuyu are the owners of McDonald’s of Guam and Saipan. They both have been in business for 30+ years and remain one of the largest employers in the Marianas and Guam. They also give back to the community through the Jose & Ruri Ayuyu Foundation.
